As usual, going on vacation meant that I pretty much overrate every single meal. Here are some culinary highlights on my Maui trip.
Ululani’s Shave Ice
No joke, Ululan’s was my first stop in Maui. First stop. As in, we got off the plane, got our rental car, and came here. And the shave ice definitely was worth it. During the 5-day trip, we visited various locations of Ululani’s 4 times; my personal favorite flavor combination: POG (passion orange and guava).
Mama’s Fish House
This restaurant in Paia is a Maui favorite; the food is great and the view is even better.
Lobster guacamole… Followed by more lobster

Ka’ana Kitchen (Andaz Wailea)
We stayed at the Andaz resort in Wailea. The hotel has two restaurants on the property: Ka’ana Kitchen and Morimoto. We did not get a chance to try out Morimoto, but did have breakfast at Ka’ana twice (once for the buffet and once a la carte), and dinner once.
While the food is excellent overall (although pricey), my favorite dish was the dessert at dinner - Coconut Sundae (with chocolate sauce and macadamia nuts), apparently a favorite among patrons. I must say, while I don’t usually have a sweet tooth, this dish was a hit with me as well.
